About

Our garden is situated on a half-acre in San Rafael. I started gardening 50 years ago as soon as I bought the property. It is now and has always been organic. In addition, I have attempted to improve the structure and microbiology of our soil with each planting.

My goal has been to grow nutritious fruits and vegetables that are free of harmful chemicals. Our family and friends welcome our produce and know they are getting the most healthy and fresh produce possible. We have plenty of space to also grow flowers. I especially love roses and currently have over 65 rose plants.

I mix annual and perennial flowers learning what blooms when and how colors and composition work together to accentuate the beauty of our plantings. The plants are also specifically selected to support the bee and butterfly populations of our area. Along with the flower and vegetable beds we have a small orchard which includes these trees: lemon, orange, lime, apple, olive, persimmon, cherry, pomegranate and pear trees.

We have a berry patch, a favorite of our grandchildren, and are attempting to get an avocado tree established. We welcome you to our garden and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

This garden’s estimated size is 1/2 acre.
