About

This garden is open twice this year: May 9 and June 27.

Welcome to my garden, el Jardin de las Ranas (Garden of the Frogs). I grew up in the lush, high mountains of Ecuador. For me it was an enchanted forest. It inspired this garden.

As you explore the garden’s labyrinth of paths, you will notice typical and exotic plants mixed in unorthodox combinations. Scattered about is nontraditional art, blooms of color interspersed throughout so that it appears natural and playful.

Many of the plants and colors were selected to provide seed and nectar, attracting wildlife that enhances the sense of magic and wonder. As a result, you’ll notice an abundance of joyful frogs, birds, moths, butterflies, and other wildlife. To promote and feed the wildlife, the garden is an organic environment with no pesticides or fertilizers. The mites, larvae, caterpillars, and other “pests” are a necessary component of the garden’s well- balanced, natural ecosystem.

I hope you will find a visit to el Jardin de las Ranas enchants your soul.
